Entering and Changing Grades
in Grade Center

CI Faculty member Melissa Stone guides you through the process of entering and changing grades in Grade Center within CI Learn (Blackboard). To enter or revise a grade find the student and assignment, click on the box, record the grade and press Enter/Return and the grade will automatically be saved.

Manually Creating Score Columns in Grade Center

CI Faculty member Melissa Stone guides you through the process of manually creating a score column in Grade Center within CI Learn (Blackboard). To create a score column, select Create Column, enter a column name and the points possible for the assignment and press Submit. The newly created column will be located on the far right within Grade Center.

Creating Reports in Grade Center

CI Faculty member Melissa Stone explains the benefit of creating reports when meeting with a student to verify a grade or missed assignment. She then guides you through how to create a report that can be printed out for a student without comprising the privacy of other students in the class. The report will provide you with all grades earned for any assignments graded for that course.

Overview of Groups Tool in CI Learn

CI Faculty member Melissa Stone provides an overview of the Groups tool in CI Learn (Blackboard). Groups can be created by the instructor or the students into any size and all online. There are two group options: self-enroll groups require the students to sign up and manual groups which are set up by the instructor. The sign-up sheet option allows students to enroll themselves but the instructor can limit the number of people allowed to join each group.

Creating a Self-Enroll Group in CI Learn

CI Faculty member Melissa Stone directs you through the process of creating a single self-enrollment group in CI Learn (Blackboard). The sign-up sheet only option limits the number of students allowed in the group.

Creating a Manual Group in CI Learn

CI Faculty member Melissa Stone guides you through the process of creating a single manual enrollment group in CI Learn (Blackboard). This option allows you to select specific students for a group.

Creating a Group Set in CI Learn

CI Faculty member Melissa Stone directs you through the process of creating a group set in CI Learn (Blackboard). The three enrollment options are self-enroll, manual enroll, or random enroll which is set by the computer. For this example you will have to choose the number of members in a group or how many total groups you would like and be sure to also determine how additional members will be enrolled. The computer will then generate the groups based on this information.

Emailing a Group in CI Learn

CI Faculty member Melissa Stone describes the process of emailing a group. This option allows you to send email to only selected group members or to all group members.

Faculty have the ability to control guess access to their Blackboard course on CI Learn. In this video, learn how to enable guest access and control the permissions for what guests can see inside of a CI Learn course.

Downloading Student Assignments from CI Learn

Faculty member Melissa Stone walks you through the process of downloading student assignments from CI Learn. To access the same screen Melissa begins with, click on Grade Center, Needs Grading, and the link for the student's assignment in the list.
